I’m an associate professor in the philosophy department at Brandeis University
. I work primarily in Kant’s moral and legal philosophy. I teach courses on Kant, ethical theory, aesthetics, and the history of philosophy.
I grew up in Reno, Nevada, and spent several years in Germany as a child. I received my BA from Santa Clara University and taught fifth grade in San Jose, California before entering graduate school. I received my PhD in philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania.
When I’m not doing philosophy, I like to sew.
